Manaslu Circuit Trek | 16-Day Restricted-Area Trek
About This Tour
The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s most spectacular and less-crowded Himalayan journeys, circling the majestic Mount Manaslu through remote valleys, traditional mountain villages, and dramatic high-altitude landscapes. Beginning with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola, the trail follows the roaring Budhi Gandaki River through dense forests, cascading waterfalls, suspension bridges, and terraced hillsides. As the trek gradually ascends, travelers pass through authentic Gurung and Tibetan-influenced settlements where ancient traditions, prayer wheels, mani walls, and monasteries reflect the rich Himalayan Buddhist culture that defines the region.
As the journey continues deeper into the Manaslu region, the scenery transforms from lush subtropical forests into dramatic alpine terrain surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks. Villages such as Namrung, Lho, and Sama Gaun offer unforgettable mountain panoramas and meaningful cultural encounters with local communities living beneath the shadow of the Himalayas. Acclimatization hikes to Manaslu Base Camp and the remote Tibetan border routes provide breathtaking glacier views and help trekkers adjust to the increasing altitude while experiencing the untouched beauty of this isolated mountain wilderness.
The highlight of the adventure is the crossing of the legendary Larkya La Pass at 5,106 meters, one of the most rewarding high mountain passes in Nepal. From the summit, trekkers are rewarded with extraordinary panoramic views of Himalayan giants including Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II before descending into the stunning valley of Bimthang. The trek concludes through rhododendron forests and peaceful mountain landscapes before returning to Kathmandu, leaving travelers with unforgettable memories of remote Himalayan culture, rugged natural beauty, and the incredible achievement of completing the Manaslu Circuit.
