About This Tour

Tucked away in a remote corner of the Annapurna region, the journey into the Nar Phu Valley is one of Nepal’s most raw and unspoiled trekking experiences. This restricted valley remained hidden from outsiders until recent decades, preserving its timeless Tibetan-influenced culture, medieval stone villages, and dramatic canyon landscapes. Trekking here feels like stepping into another world, where yak caravans, ancient monasteries, and windswept fortresses define the rhythm of life.

Leaving the secluded valleys behind, the route gradually connects to the legendary Annapurna Circuit, building toward the ultimate Himalayan challenge — crossing the formidable Thorong La Pass. At 5,416 meters, this high-altitude pass rewards trekkers with a breathtaking panorama of snowbound peaks and vast trans-Himalayan landscapes, marking both a physical achievement and a deeply spiritual moment.

Blending wilderness, culture, and adventure, this trek traverses the protected landscapes of the Annapurna Conservation Area, offering extraordinary biodiversity alongside stark high-altitude terrain. From hidden monasteries and dramatic rock formations to the triumph of crossing one of the world’s great mountain passes, the Nar–Phu / Thorong La journey is a rare expedition into the untouched soul of the Himalaya.

Day 01: Kathmandu to Besi Sahar / Koto (2600m)

Drive out of the bustling capital Kathmandu, following winding mountain roads along rivers and terraced hillsides. The journey gradually enters the remote Annapurna region, ending at Koto, the gateway to Nar–Phu.

Day 02: Trek from Koto to Meta (3560m)

Enter a dramatic gorge carved by the Nar Khola, walking through pine forests, waterfalls, and narrow canyon trails. The landscape begins to feel wild and isolated as you ascend toward Meta.

Day 03: Trek from Meta to Phu (4080m)

Traverse high alpine terrain with expansive views of barren cliffs and snow peaks. Arrive at the ancient village of Phu, a timeless settlement of stone houses and prayer walls.

Climb steadily to the beautiful village of Nar, known for its colorful prayer flags and traditional lifestyle. The setting is wide and open, surrounded by high, arid mountains.

Day 07: Trek to Ngawal (3660m) via Kang La Pass (5320m)

Cross the spectacular Kang La Pass, a challenging ascent rewarded with panoramic views of Annapurna II, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Peak. Descend into the greener Manang region at Ngawal.

Day 08: Trek to Manang (3500m)

Walk through scenic pastures and traditional villages to reach Manang, a culturally rich settlement set beneath towering हिमालयन peaks. Enjoy bakeries, monasteries, and stunning mountain backdrops.

Day 09: Trek to Yak Kharka (4050m) or Churi Lethar (4200m)

Ascend gradually above the tree line into alpine terrain dotted with grazing yaks and juniper shrubs. The air grows thinner as the landscape becomes stark and dramatic.

Day 10: Trek to Thorong Phedi (4525m)

Follow the trail along rocky slopes toward the base of the pass, surrounded by towering cliffs. Thorong Phedi serves as the final preparation point before the high crossing.

Day 11: Cross Thorong La Pass (5416m) to Muktinath (3802m)

Begin before dawn to cross the legendary Thorong La Pass, one of the world’s highest trekking passes. Descend into the Mustang region to reach the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath.

Day 12: Trek to Kagbeni (2850m) or Ekle Bhatti (2740m)

Day 13: Trek to Dhagarjung Village (3200m)

Leave the main trail for a quieter route, climbing through traditional farming settlements and apple orchards. The path offers a more intimate look at Mustang’s rural life.

Day 14: Trek to Marpha (2670m) via the Windy Pass (3472m)
